Detectives from State Crime Command's Sex Crimes Squad allege the man has been using an internet site to share material considered child abuse.
Police will allege the man uploaded images to the site and posted comments.
He was arrested at his Bungonia Road home about 9.30am on Friday.
Computers, external storage devices and a mobile phone were also seized.
The man was granted strict conditional bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on May 11, 2015.
The arrest follows inquiries by Strike Force Trawler, set up by NSW Police's Sex Crimes Squad to tackle the proliferation of child-abuse material on the internet.
