The Roads Minister might be correct in this. But surely public transport is not a white goods free zone, or off limits to bulky items.

One reader, Vincent Su, has alerted us to what purports to approximate the Holy Grail itself ... a fridge on a Sydney train, though not a tram. It features on a Facebook page titled Railcorp memes.
Elsewhere, on Twitter, the idea of a "Bring Your Fridge on Public Transport Day" has been mooted, though this would require a lot of energy just to try and prove a minister wrong.
All of this could quickly create a seating shortage, but another reader, Tim Churches, says he has brought a surplus boardroom chair onto the Newcastle Express from Central. He says he's done it twice "and no one batted an eyelid".
