POLICE investigating the murder of teacher Stephanie Scott have searched an irrigation channel outside the Riverina town where she lived in a bid to find further evidence.

A 750-metre stretch of the 8 Mile channel, which runs between Leeton and Wamoon, was searched by police for four hours on Thursday.
Police however said they did not recover anything.
Ms Scott, an English and drama teacher at Leeton High School, was last seen on Easter Sunday, April 5, preparing lessons before her wedding and honeymoon the following week.
Her burnt body was found in Cocoparra National Park, an hour and a half drive from Leeton, on April 10, the day before she was due to be married.
A cleaner at the school where Ms Scott worked, Vincent Stanford, 24, was charged with murdering the 26-year-old and with aggravated sexual assault.
Two months later, in June, Mr Stanford's twin brother, Marcus Stanford, was charged with being an accessory after the fact in connection to the alleged murder.
Police will allege that Vincent Stanford sent a number of items "connected to the case" to his twin brother and that Marcus Stanford then did not inform police of this.
The case against Marcus Stanford returns to Griffith Local Court later this month, with the case against Vincent Stanford before the same court again in September.
