Winning the Standard Accommodation section, Graham and Alison Beasley said they’re honoured to be recognised for their local contributions.
“We do have a lot of groups that come to us and we take them on historical tours and wine tours- we really promote Canowindra’s heritage side,” Alison said.
“We were judged not only on our accommodation but also the way we enhance the tourism side of the town and we’re very pleased to be able to showcase Canowindra.”
While they’ve had quite a few wins in the Travel In Inland Tourism Awards and the NSW Tourism Awards before, the pair are also celebrating another milestone this year.
“There’s been a pub on the site for 150 years this year,” Alison said.
The Old Vic will now be competing for a finalist positions at the NSW Tourism Awards, to be held in Sydney in November.
The 2015 Travel In Inland Tourism Awards were held in Broken Hill on Saturday night, with the annual award ceremony hailed as the ‘night of nights’ for the Inland Regional Tourism Industry.
The theme for this year’s awards was “Priscilla Queen of the Desert”.
“The 12th annual Travel In Inland Tourism Awards showcased some of the best tourism attractions, products and operators in NSW and Victoria”, Chair of the Awards, Jane Barnes said.
“This year, all entrants were of a high calibre. In some categories the marks between finalists were so close that a silver and bronze award was given.
“The winners demonstrated a high standard of professionalism and innovation in their field.”
The INTA Board would like to congratulate all winners and finalists for their contribution to regional tourism.
