The students who are currently completing their bronze and silver awards can be found around town volunteering their time at Moyne Aged Care, Canowindra Community Garden, Age of Fishes Museum, Country Women's Association (CWA) and Canowindra Little Athletics Centre.
Mrs Margie Crowther has been mentoring a group of students at Canowindra Community Garden and said it has been a wonderful experience.
"It is great to see the students learning new skills in the garden, such as preparing a new garden bed, planting, fertilizing, insect control, mulching, making compost and weeding," she said.
"It is a privilege to work with these young people who are volunteering their time to benefit the community."
The students have been participating in physical activities such as soccer, jazz, tennis, running, weights, archery, line dancing and learning new skills such as scrapbooking, calligraphy, playing the guitar, sketching, sewing and playing the piano.
The group will now start their preparations for an overnight hike that will be run locally later in the term.
