The Pythons travelled to Condobolin on Sunday and conquered the Rams winning 14-7.
They now tackle West Wyalong in the preliminary final this Saturday, with the winner progressing to the grand final against Blayney.
Even though the weather wasn't full of sunshine on Sunday, the Canowindra supporters made up for it by nearly out numbering the Condobolin supporters at their home ground.
The wet conditions did however make it difficult to control the ball, leading to Condobolin getting the first points on the board, securing a lead of 7-0.
Tom Roth and Luke Watt played well and both made some strong tackles to keep the Rams out of their attacking half.
Dan Bowd and Jack Knight performed well in the lineouts, gaining possession of the ball and Ed Price made a number of great intercepts and kicks.
With halftime nearing the Pythons had a number of attempts at scoring, but they couldn't get past the Rams strong defence.
The Pythons soon pushed back harder, which soon saw Sean Wyburn charge his way through to score under the posts and Tom Roth successfully converted the try, leveling the scores to 7-7.
Ben Easter and Craig McKenzie were everywhere on the field, making some great breaks through Condobolin's defence.
The half time score was even at 7-7 making for a tough second half.
The Pythons came back out strong with most of the ball play in our attacking half.
With everyone working as a team Ronald Lawrence was able to push over the line to score and Tom Roth extended the lead by booting his second successful conversion, making the score 14-7.
With a 7-point lead the Pythons continued to hold out Condobolin for the remainder of the game.
The cheers from the Canowindra supporters sounded the end of the game with the Pythons victorious.
The Canowindra Pythons captain Sean Wyburn said: "The Pythons killed it today, there was a lot of strong defence in the middle and the backs performed well in the wet conditions.
"The boys as a whole team just clicked and our strong defence won us the game," he said.
Thank you to the Canowindra supporters who got behind the Pythons and traveled to Condobolin on Sunday.
The Pythons will now travel to West Wyalong this Saturday to play for a spot in the grand final.
