Virginia Cullane passed away in August, 2014 after losing a nine month battle with terminal cancer. Her daughter, Jenny Cullane was pleased to see so many people supporting the foundation.
"Before mum moved to Canowindra she was a researcher in Sydney," she said.
"That was her passion, so when she was diagnosed she wanted to do something to help establish clinical trials in the central west."
Mrs Cullane had been in remission for 17 years before her surprise diagnosis.
"Before she passed away we presented a 12 thousand dollar cheque to the foundation, and she was blown away by that.
"I wish I could tell her now that the community had put together a fundraiser for her foundation."
The CWA evening group in Canowindra organised the choir fundraiser.
Gillian Stone is a CWA life member and was pleased to help a worthy cause.
"Every family has been touched by cancer, and the whole community will support anything to do with cancer, which is why we decided to hold this event," she said.
"Virginia was a doer, and I mean that in the best way, she worked hard for the CWA right until the end."
Ms Cullane is proud of her mother's legacy.
"I don't know how someone who has been told that they are dying can pour their last little bit of energy into something like this, but that was mum," she said.
The Orange Male choir and the Kurugai Choir were excellent on the night.
"People kept coming up to me in the break to let me know how great the night was," Ms Cullane said.
"Everybody enjoyed themselves, and the church was packed."
The Orange Male Choir waved their fee for their performance on the night.
Ms Cullane will continue to work with the CWA to tally the funds collected on the night and will be making a donation to the foundation soon.
Anyone who would like to donate to the charity can do so at the Virginia Cullane Book Store in Canowindra or at the NRMA in Canowindra.
The foundation, which has been set up in Collaboration with Orange's Dr Peter Fox aims to set up clinical trials in Orange for people battling cancer.
