Canowindra secured a hugely valuable two competition points by outclassing Cargo on Sunday 36-24, in round 17 of the Woodbridge Cup.

The Tigers moved in to finals contention as a result but will need to knock over Grenfell in this weekend’s final regular round game to confirm a spot in the top five.
On Sunday, playing at Cargo, the Tigers produced a dominant first 40 minutes piling on five tries to two to lead 30-12 at the break.
Cargo crossed twice to close the margin to six points early in the second half but when Ham Tina recorded his third try of the day the lead was extended to 12, and the Tigers held on.
Canowindra’s further tryscorers were Matt Mclean, Dave Doran and Jayden Brown, with Mclean adding six conversions.
The Tigers’ finals bid receives a boost this Saturday playing at home in front of a Sponsors Day and Past Players Day crowd.
The club is also taking the opportunity to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Tigers 1986 first grade premiership.
It’s expected plenty of the members associated from that winning side will be on the sidelines on Saturday.
It should be a fantastic day and the club invites the community to support them get across the line.
First grade are set to start at 3pm with the girls’ league tag starting proceedings about 1.40pm.
League tag are positioned seventh and are out of finals contention following last weekend’s competition results.
