Margaret and Robert Dennis set up a donation and merchandise table outside of IGA last week, with plenty of passersby digging deep for the cause, buying teddy bears, pens, miniature footballs and bunches of Daffodils.
Margaret said they were on track to meet last year’s fundraising efforts.
“Last year we raised $1500,” she said.
“That’s not bad for a town of 2000.”
The couple have raised funds and sold merchandise for the past three years in Canowindra and were based in Orange before that.
“Everyone knows someone who is affected,” Margaret said.
“We are well supported by people in Canowindra, always have been, always will be.”
Margaret and Robert would like to thank Johnny from IGA for allowing them to set up outside.
Daffodil Day raises millions each year for research and to help those suffering with cancer.
