The club’s most prestigious award went to Todd Wyburn.
Wyburn received the Chris Noble Memorial, awarded to a player who provides inspiration and leadership to teammates, as well as contributes to the team’s success.
Wyburn also picked up the club’s best and fairest award.
Further multiple award winners included Dean Schaefer, who scored the best forward prize and was voted players’ player.
Alex Gavin was awarded Doug Rice’s coach’s award and a trophy for most games played, while Jacob Baker took home Stapper’s award, most consistent and most game prizes.
Luke Watt was recognised as the best back, Mitch White won rookie of the year and Craig McKenzie also picked up a most games trophy.
Highlights of the night included Graham Rice’s surprise induction as a life member of the Canowindra Pythons Rugby Club.
Eddie Wilkinson was named club person of the year, and Doug Rice received a trophy for coaching during the 2016 season.
The club would like to thank Julie Fliedner and the Canowindra Walla Rugby ladies for putting on a lovely meal and the Canowindra Bowling Club for hosting the event.
Greg Ashton was the lucky winner of the 2015 Australian Wallaby jumper.
The Pythons would also like to acknowledge its sponsors for 2016. The Pythons unfortunately missed finals contention this season, while the Blayney Rams went back to back by beating Cootamundra in Saturday’s grand final.
