Two students, Laura Kerr and Dylan Slattery, couldn’t be separated and they took out first place in the Sculpture in the Garden competition.
Dylan created a scarecrow to keep an eye on the students’ fresh produce, complete with wood from his dog yard and his Pop’s old shirt.
Laura was inspired by pictures of other sculptures in creating her masterpiece, a love-heart made out of wire that could also double as a plant holder.
“I found the heart shape and I liked the idea,” she said.
“It’s also a play on words, ‘garden sculpture’”.
It took students two weeks to complete their artworks, which are now in the garden.
