Installed over the Summer holiday break, the new equipment was bought with funds raised by the school and it’s P and C.
Canowindra Public School Principal, Sharon Hawker, said the students were thrilled.
“We’re very excited about it. It was a long year of fundraising from the canteen and school community,” she said.
“It (the new equipment) cost about $25,000, that’s about how much we have fund-raised.
“It was all put in the holidays and we’re very excited about it.
“They (the students) love it, we’ve had a PBL focus on how to use the playground equipment properly because there is a lot of different elements there’s lots of balancing and lots of climbing walls.

“It’s a little bit different to the old one so we’ve had to make sure they’re using it properly and they have been and they’ve all been doing the right thing,” she said.
The heat had so far prevented the students from making full use of the equipment.
“Unfortunately its just been a little hot so they haven't had the full benefits of the equipment because they’ve had to come in the shade and have a drink,” she said.
Included in the installation was a renovation of the school’s current playground equipment which had been facing issues such as rust, faded paint and a lack of interest from the older students.
The installation has doubled the size of the school’s playground area and removed an old shed from the playground space.
