A three-year-old boy has died after he was hit by a car at Cootamundra in south-west NSW on Tuesday.

The toddler was in the driveway of a home in Sutton Street when he was run over by a car about 4pm.
Police said the 41-year-old man behind the wheel, believed to be the boy's father, did not realise the boy had been hit and continued to drive away.
The boy was seriously injured and was taken to Cootamundra Base Hospital, where he died on Tuesday afternoon.
Local police have established a crime scene at the home.
In a statement, NSW Police said the car's driver has undergone mandatory blood and urine tests.
"Investigations into the incident continue," the statement said.
"Police will prepare a report for the Coroner."
