Any local charity or non-profit group in the Cowra and Canowindra area can enter a submission giving details about the group and explaining how they will spend the money.
Submissions can be emailed to Cowra’s Westpac Bank Manager, Justin Ellice, at jellice@westpac.com.au by June 13 and a winner will be announced on June 20.
Existing in the region since March 1885 the decision to open a branch was made because of booming local conditions and the importance of the district as a leading agricultural and pastoral area.
Three accounts were opened on the banks first day of trading.
The original premises was a leased building until 1908 when a purpose built premises was erected on land purchased by the bank.
Westpac branches across the state are taking part in the giveaways.
