Having suffered back-to-back losses, the result was a much needed one for the Tigers who are placed six points adrift of fifth placed Peak Hill.

With seven rounds remaining Canowindra’s hopes of securing a spot in the finals remain, and coach Barry Traves is taking a positive approach to the coming weeks.

“It’s looking very good for the next few weeks. We play Grenfell this week which again is a must-win,” Traves said.

“If we stick to our gameplans we will have a very good showing against the Goannas.”

On Sunday, Callum Clyburn starred out of dummy-half scoring three tries, while Jayden Brown, Aaron Earsman, Napoloini Navulavula, Waisele Ratudina and Vilise Rabotini all scored doubles.

Brodie Friend and Israel Symington also crossed the line in the 66-point thumping.

While the Rams were severely depleted, Traves was pleased with how the Tigers went about their work during the 80 minutes.

It wasn’t until late in the game that Condobolin scored their one and only try.

Traves said the Tigers were a lot more organised in attack and defence compared to recent weeks.

“The workload was shared right through the side from the bench to the starting 13,” Traves said.

“The team played together, the kick chase improved a lot. Many times we caught them in their 20m and they had to work it out. Tactically we were a lot better.”

The Tigers only made six errors during the contest which is big improvement on performances this season and bodes well for the remainder of the year.

Three points went to Callum Clyburn, two to Jayden Brown and one each to Waisele Ratudina and Vilise Rabotini. Clyburn and Brown shared players’ player.

In the lower grades youth league went down 30-22 while the ladies’ league tag was edged out 14-4.

The Tigers are at home this weekend with youth league against Eugowra at 11.20 am, league tag against Grenfell at 12.40pm and round 12 Woodbridge Cup Tigers and Grenfell from 2pm.
