Cargo’s Kathy Wicks has raised a sensational $6000 after facing the razor for the World’s Greatest Shave.

Mrs Wicks organised a fundraising market at Cargo on June 25 where she had her locks cropped and was left shocked by the $6197 that was raised.

“It was stunning, simply amazing,” Mrs Wicks said.

“My original goal was $1500, then when I realised how many people were coming with stalls I thought I would top it up for $4000, and then we got $6000.”

Mrs Wicks was inspired to organise the fundraiser and donate her hair after her seeing her husband, Russell Wicks, go through his own battle with leukaemia.

Mrs Wicks said Mr Wicks is still alive and in remission because of research achieved with other people’s fundraising so she wanted to do her bit to help.
