The Monster Jack and Black Queen dog of 43 starts is making the most of a remarkable stretch of form, which was sparked with a win at Young back in April.
Since then, he hasn’t finished outside the placings and is now aiming for his sixth straight victory.
He has 14 wins and 14 placings.
In just his second outing at Wagga on Friday night, Monster Black scored victory in the Holbrook Vet Centre Stakes (320m), setting the fastest time of the night over the distance with a speedy 18.51s.
Launching from box three, he avoided a congested first bend, pinged to the lead and raced past the post by a margin of six lengths from Sno Bo and Dana Piper further back in third.
Monster Black was popular among punters, being sent out a $2 favourite.
Meanwhile, Cowra dog Spring Jazz won her fifth race in a row on Saturday night and she broke her box eight hoodoo in the process, winning for the first time in the pink rug.
Racing at Bulli for just the second time, Spring Jazz triumphed in the Shane Gloven Happy 40th Stakes (472m) in a slick time of 26.57, about two lengths from Glengarrie Mate in second.
The result continues a good spell for the two-year-old bitch who was coming off the back of two wins at Dubbo, one at Wentworth Park and one at Bulli after she had ran third in the John McDonald Memorial Final at Cowra on June 12.
A product of the successful Cowra-based Braddon kennel, the result also bolsters Spring Jazz’s hugely consistent record throughout 19-starts, having now won on eight occasions and finished in the minor placings six times.
On Saturday night she avoided early traffic to move alongside the race leaders on the first bend, and showed superior speed to the back straight before holding out a late challenge from Glengarrie Mate.
Elsewhere, Vickey Keeping gave Cowra trainer Geoff Curtale a thrill at Richmond on Friday night, chalking up her maiden in the opening race on the program.
