Just hours after Cootamundra MP Katrina Hodgkinson announced she would retire from the state seat, prospective candidates have already started think about their by-election.
Charlie Sheahan, who is also running for a spot on the recently merged Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council, has said he would also be putting his hand up for the seat.
Mr Sheahan also stood for Country Labor at the 2015 election.
The Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party have also stated they would be looking to put up a candidate.
