Canowindra businesses and community services are well represented among the near record nominations received for this year’s event.
Voting opened on Friday August 11 and can be completed online at a dedicated website www.daroobusinessawards.com.au until 5pm Friday September 15, 2017.
This year’s event promises to be one of the best in the Daroos’ 18-year history after 230 individual nominations were received across 17 categories. Many businesses received multiple nominations in each category, bringing the total number of nominations to 654.
Winners in 14 categories will be decided by popular vote, with three awards – Best Business in Cabonne, Employee of the Year and Apprentice/Trainee of the Year – to be determined by a panel of independent judges.
A new category was added this year to recognise businesses fostering disability inclusion.
Central West Business HQ Chief Executive and Daroo Awards Committee Chairman Bruce Buchanan was delighted with the response from customers and clients who nominated businesses they believed should be recognised.
Mr Buchanan said the Daroos were acknowledged as one of the major events on the regional business calendar and a model for business awards in rural Australia.
“These awards recognise the achievements and contributions of Cabonne businesses and their employees,” he said.
“I urge all those people who nominated businesses to go to the website now, check out the finalists in each category and vote for their preferred businesses or organisations.”
People without computer or internet access should contact the Central NSW HQ on 6362 0448 or Cabonne Council on 6392 3200 and a voting form will be mailed to them with a replay paid envelope.
