Canowindra’s Joanna Balcombe took out this years ASA National Meat Breeds Sheep Championship claiming the top honor over Queensland’s Tracey Bennett and Victoria’s Matthew Hill.
Over one and a half hours Joanna judged eight meet breed sheep, four long wool animals and four short wool animals, against the standards of what is considered a good Meat Breed animal.
Joanna was judged on her ability to observe both the good and bad points of the animals and have her placings, after careful inspection and consideration, agree with the decision of the competitions Championship judge.
