Flash Grant negotiated one of the four Janet Braddon Memorial Heats last weekend, finishing second behind third fastest qualifier Hayville Cracker in a slick time of 26.68s.
The result booked the two-year-old of 21 starts his spot in this week’s decider at Sid Kallas Oval.
Looming as the main threat is Cowra greyhound Hippo Clan who set the benchmark in the heats, stopping the clock in a speedy 25.81s in heat four.
Trained by Rodney McDonald, Hippo Clan has 19 starts to his name.
Hippo Clan’s kennelmate Dana Waz also qualified after running second behind Lynn Maney’s trained Formula Man.
Maney also has a second chance with Planet Of Dreams winning heat one in 26.53s.
Shannon Kirby from Spring Terrace has Cogburn in the final while Dusty Hooroo completes the field for Mandurama based trainer Alita Funnell.
Fields for this Saturday’s racing at Cowra’s Sid Kallas Oval will be available Wednesday afternoon.
