Race on Monday afternoon, Lochinvar Zara finished ahead of outside Rosedene Quirk ($32.80) and Rosedene Valor ($14.90).
Canowindra trainer Paul Britt said Lochinvar Zara did her job well.
“She done what we expected her to do. She got across and got to the front,” he said.
“Two of my friends – Paul and Beverly Bermingham – from Canowindra bought her about a month ago from Melbourne. Paul helps me a lot with my team of dogs at home, so I train her for him.”
In the opening straight, Lochinvar Zara, Stay Rich ($3.60) and Rehot Spring ($3.50) competed for the lead.
Fortunately for Lochinvar Zara, both Stay Rich and Rehot Spring came together and fell away to finish fourth and fifth respectively.
One More Shakey ($33.50) finished sixth, while Missy Merlin ($15) finished a head in front of last-placed Heather Wren ($18.70) to claim seventh.
Grungle’s Bride and Snowy’s Legacy were both two late scratchings.
The win for Lochinvar Zara come in her 10th career start and her maiden race in New South Wales.
Britt does not have any main plans for the greyhound.
“We haven’t really looked forward but possibly over a bit more ground. We’ll probably look to race her over the 400 to 500 with her,” he said.
Britt said Lochinvar Zara is really easy to work with.
The victory marked the beginning of a hugely successful meeting for Britt who went home with a treble of winners.
Both Hazard County and Super Boot won their respective races.
