Local residents turned out as Canowindra stood silent on Saturday morning in Memorial Park to commemorate 99 years after the guns of World War I finally fell silent.

Led by Canowindra RSL Sub branch president Michael Harrison the service was well attended with students from Canowindra’s schools taking part in the service.
The service was conducted with assistance by students from Canowindra High School, with Canowindra Primary School, St Edwards Primary School and Canowindra High School in attendance.
Park Plan
Meanwhile Cabonne Council has prepared a draft Plan of Management for Memorial Park.
The draft plan can be inspected at the HACC office Gaskill Street, Canowindra from Monday November 20 to Monday December 18 between the hours of 9am to 5pm.
