World Day of Prayer is celebrated on or near the first Friday in March each year.
More than 170 countries, including Australia, participate.
This year the service has been prepared by an ecumenical committee from the Republic of SURINAME, located in northern South America, part of the Guianas, an ecological region within the Amazon.
Suriname is named after the Surinen tribe, one of the indigenous peoples of the land.
The World Day of Prayer will be celebrated in Canowindra this year at the Uniting Church, Blatchford Street at 7.00pm on Friday, March 2, 2018.
Rev. Joy Harris will be our guest speaker.
The organisers of the event invite you to join with them on this day (men also very welcome) and stay for supper, Suriname/ Australian style afterwards.
