The majority of the fossils are now displayed on upright stands rather than on plinths closer to the ground.
Anne Clark from the Canowindra Age of Fishes Museum said the stands not only further protect the fossils, but allow visitors to see finer details of fish and other creatures.
More stands are set to be erected soon.
School holiday fun
Local kids had the opportunity to be up close and hands-on in the museum during its Kids Activity Day on July 9.
Kids took part in activities that focused on the theme: Geology, Electricity and Magnetism.
Another activity day will be held in the October school holidays.
Fossil Roadshow
The museum will host a free Fossil Roadshow on August 1 from 4pm till 7pm, more details to come.
