Ciro Immobile marked his recovery from coronavirus with a goal as Lazio won 2-0 at last-place Crotone in Serie A. Joaquin Correa scored Lazio's second as the capital club moved fifth on Saturday - three points behind league leaders AC Milan, who visit Napoli on Sunday. The match was at risk of being postponed after torrential downpours and flash flooding in the area but went ahead despite the ball barely rolling and water splashing up from the waterlogged pitch as the players ran. It was Immobile's first match in nearly three weeks after being ruled out with COVID-19, which also kept him out of Italy's three matches. He had scored in his previous three matches before his layoff and he opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a diving header into the bottom left corner following a superb cross from Marco Parolo. Correa doubled Lazio's lead in the 58th with a shot from a tight angle after dribbling past Crotone defender Pedro Pereira and going almost to the byline. Crotone remained bottom with just two points from their opening eight matches. Immobile has given positive and negative Sars-CoV-2 tests in the past three weeks, which has triggered a probe into how Lazio have implemented coronavirus protocol. "This whole story was really displeasing," Immobile said. "There were moments when I was ready, then I had a positive swab test." The Italy international scored 36 goals last season, equalling the Serie A record of Gonzalo Higuain and winning the 2020 Golden Boot award as the best striker in the top European leagues. "Ciro was very clever, he is a leader and scored a great goal. Today it was tough and we won against a very good team," Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi said. Elsewhere in Serie A, Atalanta were held 0-0 at promoted Spezia, who sit 12th, while champions Juventus were set to welcome Cagliari later on Saturday. Australian Associated Press
