That's what Reverend Joy Harris has done.
Coming from Bermagui on the South Coast of New South Wales between Narooma and Bega, Reverend Harris said she has been warmly welcomed by the people of Canowindra
“It’s been great, people have been so friendly, you walk around the street and everybody says g’day even if they don’t know you,” she said.
“The position I was in was coming to an end and Bishop Ian from the Anglican diocese of Bathurst rang me up and said that he had a parish I may be interested in.”
“I’m just getting to know the people and bring the love of Jesus to the people that’s what I’m here for. I’ve already booked in six baptisms,” she said.
Reverend Harris said the one message she wanted to give to the people of Canowindra was, “my door is always open if people need to come and have a chat”.
