There was plenty of expectation on Justa Grant’s shoulders heading into last Wednesday night’s Dubbo To Wenty Final (520m) and he did not disappoint.

David Grant’s star was one of the only finalists to race at Wentworth Park, the home of greyhound racing in the state, and that was a big reason behind him jumping out as a $2.20 favourite.
There was also plenty of interest around Wellington trainer Timothy Towney and Son Of Zeus ($2.20) but after missing the start he failed to figure in the placings and finished in last place.
Justa Grant began best and quickly got to the lead up the in-form Super Kadani ($8) was right on his heels.
Super Kadani, trained by Jamie Bush, headed in to the final on the back of three straight wins and impressed in last week’s heats at Dubbo’s Dawson Park.
But Justa Grant, who also produced an eye-catching performance in the heats, extended his lead down the back straight and powered on to record a dominant seven length win in the $3840 event.
Super Kadani was second while Melanie Mabbott’s Tiger Swuff was a further three-and-a-half lengths back in third.
Justa Grant has now scored six wins and eight placings in 20 starts for his Canowindra trainer, with an impressive two wins and two placings recorded in four starts at Wentworth Park.
The dog by Collison out of Fine and Fancy is the first reserve in heat 10 of this Saturday night’s Golden Easter Egg series at Wentworth Park.
Heats are worth $5,800-to-the-winner.
The series winner pockets $250,000.
Also in heat 10 is Cowa speedster Falcon’s Fury, trained by Pamela and Paul Braddon, who has drawn box eight.
The series is the biggest event on the NSW Greyhound Racing calendar and has attracted most of Australia’s best greyhounds including Forbes star and 2016 runner up Brad Hill Billy, Blazin’ Bomber, Buck Forty, early favourite Ando’s Mac and a host of others.
If Justa Grant is promoted to race in heat 10, he’ll jump at 10.42pm this Saturday night.

1 Chief Pilot, 2 Alpha Demeter, 3 Tap Out Axe, 4 Aqua Cheetah, 5 Celcia Bale, 6 Single Sticka, 7 Srixon, 8 Falcon’s Fury. 9 Justa Grant, 10 Harry Sarkis.
