Canowindra Tigers made it two from two on Sunday, defeating equal competition leaders at the time Peak Hill Roosters 44-30 away from home.

The result also marks Canowindra second win of the season, ahead of this Sunday’s return home where they’ll take on the Trundle Boomers.
The Tigers overcame a slow start at Peak Hill, scoring 20 unanswered points to turn a 12 point deficit after 20 minutes into 20-12 lead at halftime.
The margin extended to 24-12 six minutes from the restart as the Tigers opened the second-half scoring.
A mistake from the restart gifted the Roosters an opportunity and the hosts took advantage, crossing for a converted try and reducing the lead to six points.
The momentum swung and the Roosters applied pressure as errors crept into the Tigers game.
Another converted try for the Roosters made it all-square at 24-24.
Canowindra edged ahead, taking a 30-24 lead with 18 minutes remaining.
A Tigers penalty goal increased the margin beyond a converted try, before a further two tries sealed the within the final 10 minutes.
Peak Hill scored a late four-pointer but it was nothing but a consolation.
Tigers coach Barry Traves praised his players.
“Everyone performed really which is the pleasing thing. A good all round team effort.
“They were equal competition leaders before the match.”
Three points went to Tim Wythes for his work in defence, two points went to Nathan Whatman who started at lock and one point went to Jayden Brown who also picked up players’ player.
Meanwhile the girls league tag also scored a solid 24-0 victory against Peak Hill.
This weekend the Tigers return home for round seven Woodbridge Cup action against Trundle.
