Police have issued infringement notices for boat safety offences, fishing offences and notices have been issued to parties suspected of illegal hunting during a blitz at Wyangala Dam on the weekend.

The police operation was held in conjunction with the Grabine Fishing Challenge which attracted more than 1000 competitors and 300 vessels from Friday, August 25 to Sunday, August 27.
Police from Canobolas Local Area Command, officers from Service NSW (Waterways) and rural crime investigators from Canobolas, Chifley and Castlereagh commands were in attendance.
The operation’s focus was on activities on the dam including boat safety and compliance with boating and fishing regulations, as well as policing the dam foreshore and rural roads leading to the dam.
Police hailed the operation a success.
