Cabonne Council is inviting individuals and community groups to participate in a workshop later this month to help develop a regional economic development strategy.
As part of $1.3 billion the NSW Government has allocated from the sale of “poles and wires” for infrastructure for the regions, Cabonne, Orange and Blayney Councils are working with NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet and their consultants AgEconPlus to develop a strategy for the future growth of the region.
Deputy Premier John Barilaro said unlocking the potential of regional businesses to create jobs was an important part of the additional funding allocated to regional NSW.
To ensure Cabonne Council and the Orange region secures funding for the most pressing infrastructure and business and job creation needs, Council is inviting residents and representatives of local organisations to attend a short “infrastructure priority setting” workshop between 10am and 12:30pm on Wednesday, October 25, at the Molong Council Chambers.
Places will be limited, so people interested in attending the workshop are asked to contact Cabonne Council’s Economic Development Manager Dale Jones before 5pm on Friday October 20, by calling 6392 3200 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
