Lunch will be provided, with some brief formalities at 1pm.
The open day will run from 10am until 2pm at 3 Vista Lane in Canowindra.
“Although the house will not be completely finished the family would like to take the opportunity to ‘open the doors’ to the community and thank the many volunteers, businesses, council and many more donors who have contributed so generously, and made this dream for the Read children a reality,” Mr Ward said.
“We hope that any interested members of the community will join with us on Saturday 25 November to celebrate what has been a truly amazing community effort, and take a look at the house.”
Gideon, Anwen and Mahalah Read were each born with Merosin Deficient Muscular Dystrophy, and Restrictive Lung Disease.
Each of the children have significant medical, mobility and independent living needs, they love life and currently live at home with their full time carer parents Jemimah and Ben.
The Read Triplet Trust was formed Anne Ward said, not just to build a new house for the family.
“It’s for the children’s ongoing needs throughout their lifetime. The main aim is to make these children have independent lives and help them be contributing adults to society, and Jemimah and Ben are doing a great job,” Anne said.
A long list of donors have assisted in construction of the home.
Donations and discounts on goods and services have been received from many businesses, community groups and community events not just in Canowindra but also throughout NSW.
These range from concrete components from Earsmans Concrete, Canowindra to Boral in Sydney.
Windows and doors from Taberners Glass in Orange, and Rylock in Sydney, slab insulation from Kingspan Insulation, Sydney and termite barrier from FMC, Sydney.
