This Flood Watch is a “heads up for possible future flooding and is NOT a Flood Warning.
A cold front from the Southern Ocean will approach New South Wales at the end of the week, and interacting with warm, humid air to generate widespread rain with embedded thunderstorms. Southern and central districts of New South Wales are forecast to receive the most rain, with some areas likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall during Friday and Saturday.
The weather system has the potential to cause minor riverine flooding as well as local flooding from Friday onwards.
This Flood Watch means that people living or working along the Belubula River must monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding develop.
Flood Warnings will be issued if Minor Flood Level is expected to be exceeded at key sites along the main rivers for which the Bureau of Meteorology provides a flood warning service.
Severe Weather Warnings will be issued or updated if very heavy rain is forecast or observed.
