Year six students of Canowindra St Edward’s Catholic School have received their leadership badges.

The two school captains, three sports captains, library captain and four Year six leaders were announced at the end of last year, however were given their badges on Sunday at the school’s opening mass.
The students received their badges from Father Riley before their proud parents and grandparents had the privilege of pinning them on.
Principal Ken McNamara said the students will take an active role in being good examples for the school’s younger students.
“They take on the responsibility of being leaders in the school by showing a great example to other students,” Mr McNamara said.
“This includes being a buddy to the new kindergarten students.”
The Year six group have a number of leadership activities on the school calendar.
They will head to the National Young Leaders’ Day in Sydney on March 12, they will attend the Christian Living Camp in May and will take an excursion to Canberra during term four.
This year’s St Edward’s school captains are Harriet O’Dea and Tom Agostino.
The library captain is Isabel Brown.
Sports captains include Harry Hazelton (Makillop), Amy Harrison (St Patrick’s) and Jonty Thurgate (St Joseph’s).
The Year six leaders are Toby Fisher, Bennett Berly, Bailey Kinsela and Laura Atkinson.
