On Saturday, March 24, 2018, the Woodstock Memorial Hall Committee, in partnership with the Festival of Small Halls, will welcome Canadian singer-songwriter Dave Gunning, captivating Australian star Claire Anne Taylor and local artist Nerida Cuddy to the Woodstock Memorial Hall for an evening of world-class entertainment.
Dave Gunning has a career now spanning 20 years and 10 albums.
The folk-based singer/songwriter has earned multiple Canadian Folk Music and East Coast Music Awards (and a Juno nomination) for his well-crafted work.
An engaging performer, he has entertained audiences in the U.S., Europe and Australia and is highly respected by his peers.
Claire Anne Taylor crafts soulful folk songs that capture both the beautiful and dark elements of the human experience.
With vivid storytelling, colossal vocals and a powerfully captivating stage presence, her live shows leave the audience in no doubt that they have just witnessed something extraordinary.
Nerida Cuddy hailing from Canowindra, has a long history of folk music involvement and promises to add an enthralling local element to the evening’s programme.
She has been described as a "central west Mary Black".
The tour is hosted by volunteers from the local community, so it’s also a chance for a town to show off their warmest welcome and most enthusiastic audiences.
Woodstock is a vibrant village community committed to maintaining the wonderful assets within the village.
The Woodstock Memorial Hall, dedicated to our servicemen, was built in 1924.
This Festival is the beginning of the revival of our Hall to the prominence it has held through the years, with the great assistance of the younger folk in and around the village.
The excitement this Festival has created in the community is amazing and brings together the past and the future, the young and the old, all bound in the music of the people.
All funds raised return to the Woodstock Memorial Hall, for ongoing restoration works.
Tickets available for purchase online at www.festivalofsmallhalls.com or at Relish Home and Living or J J Dresser & Co. Limited tickets available.
