Mrs Wright walks to catch up with her two sisters, Marcia Lang and Kate Power, who have all spread from their family home of Canowindra to Orange, Wagga Wagga and Forbes respectively.
The trio walk together once a month, and have undertaken several long, organised walks over the past few years – including undertaking Tumbatrek earlier this year.
The three walk with Marcia’s husband Darren.
“We’re three of six, with 17 years in between the oldest and the youngest so it’s something we can all do together,” Mrs Wright said.
This month, they will be tackling the 30km Sydney Coastrek to raise money for the Fred Hollows foundation.
The sisters – who are walking under Team Thornhill, their maiden name – to remember their grandfather, who was 90 per cent blind and lived with the family for two decades.
“Sight loss has affected us as a family, and together we’re trying to help people who don’t have sight as well,” Mrs Wright said.
“It’s really quite important to us.”
