The teams were well matched having won and lost one against each other during the season. Cowra Sixers won the toss and elected to field. Cowra Sixers bowling was fast and unpredictable on the dewy pitch, and Canowindra wickets fell at a remarkable pace.

Hugh Breen had his eye in and scored 18 runs before being caught out. Sammy Austin scored 32 not out assisted by "super glue" (Bill) Harrison giving Canowindra a score of 74.
Cowra Sixers started confidently however Canowindra had other ideas and Michael McNamara ran out out one of Cowra's top scorers after only six balls and so the fight was on.
Tight bowling by Sammy Austin saw three wickets fall, Hugh Breen took one, Mick Coady one, Connor Cole one, Toby Fisher one and Maisie Harrison one.
Claire Wright’s running in the field kept the score in check. Mick Coady took three catches and Sammy Austin two.
Will Grant and Mikey Mac were sure hands with the gloves and kept the team together to take the win by a nail biting seven runs – all out for 67 runs. Final score Canowindra 74 to Cowra Sixers 67.

The Cowra and District Junior Cricket award winners were honoured at a presentation night held at the Cowra Bowling Club on Saturday night.
This year’s competitions were between teams from Cowra, Canowindra and Grenfell.
The prestigious Matt Morrison Memorial Award was presented to promising junior Mac Webster.
Mac Webster also took out the Cowra Sixers player of the year award.
Representative player of the year for Stage 2 was Hugh Breen while Sammy Austin was the winner of the Stage 3 player of the year award.
The overall stage 2 player of the year was Rhys Hughes.
The stage 3 overall player of the year was Mikey McNamara.
The stage 2 winning team was Grenfell Thunder who defeated Grenfell Sixers in the final.
