They’ve even organised a team of red heads to push Percy home from Orange to Boorowa with a special invitation going out to Prince Harry to join in.
Percy will depart from Orange on April 8 and arrive back in Boorowa on Saturday, April 14.
On day one of his journey he will walk from Orange to Nashdale before continuing on day two to Cargo.
He is expected to arrive in Canowindra on day three, Tuesday April 10 and then make the journey to Cowra on his fourth day on the road.
From Cowra he makes his way to Darby’s Falls and then on to Frogmore before finally arriving back in Boorowa.
Co-organiser of the Pig Push, Richard Fleming, said one of the students looking after Percy may one day be recipients of a Country Education Foundation scholarship.
“This year, we are pushing Percy from Orange to Boorowa, the fact that we are bringing Percy home, that is what the Country Education Foundation is all about,” he said.
Richard also said that the participating teams from each town along the way have been finalised, with a very special team taking to the road on Tuesday, April 10.
“This year will feature Team Red Heads,” Richard said.
“Only red heads can push that day.”
According to Richard, Team Red Heads may also get the royal treatment – that’s if the world’s most famous red head can ditch the wedding preparations for a week.
“We’ve written to Prince Harry to see if he was keen to push,” Richard said.
