Kermie the hot air balloon frog sailed into the sky for an early appearance at this week’s Canowindra International Balloon Challenge on Saturday morning, as competition pilots set off for their first practice flights.
The spectacular balloon had a lengthy stay in the air making its way over Canowindra before landing on a property towards the Eugowra Road.
Kermie is one of a number of special shaped balloons that are headlining at the balloon glow on Saturday night.
Jewel the hummingbird, Nudie and the Little Red Heart are also expected to feature in the glow.
This Saturday’s balloon glow and markets begins at 3.30pm at the Canowindra Showground.
From 4pm till 8pm wine, food and craft markets will see local chefs and wineries offer their produce at sample size and prices.
