Students in schools in Cowra and across the nation took part in National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday, reading the children’s book Hickory Dickory Dash.

The book, written by Tony Wilson and illustrated by Laura Wood, was read out at schools such as St Edward’s Primary School in Canowindra, Cowra Public School, Holmwood Public School and Wyangala Dam Public School.
Cowra Public even had the book brought to life, with Mrs Mouse joining the students to read.
An initiative of the Australian Library and Information Association, the annual event, now in its 18th year, is designed to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books.
