Five unanswered tries gave the Boomers a 28-0 lead after 30 minutes, before the Tigers stormed home in the second half to reduce the margin to 38-26 at fulltime.
It marked Trundle’s seventh straight victory this season and spelled Canowindra’s third loss.
The Boomers took advantage of a slow start by the Tigers, crossing for tries in the sixth, 10th,18th and 20th minutes and again the 30th.
Canowindra kept their hopes alive with tries through centres Dan Madden and Brydon Hughes before the break to close the gap to 28-10.
The Boomers scored back-to-back after the restart to lead 38-10 with about 25 minutes to go.
The Tigers lifted and gave the Boomers a scare recording three late tries through Nathan Whatman and second tries for both Madden and Hughes to finish two converted tries behind at 38-26.
“Trundle’s a very polished outfit. The Tigers were their worst enemy today allowing too much possession to their opposition,” committee member Barry Traves said.
The result leaves Canowindra placed fifth on the competition ladder after eight rounds with a round nine hit-out against the Eugowra Golden Eagles looming this week.
In the lower grades, the Canowindra league tag registered a 14-6 win over Trundle while the youth league side went down 28-12 to the Boomers.
