With the first real winter’s day for some time it was great to see a lot of supporters turn up to cheer the boys on.
With the Pythons fielding a full complement of 25 players the boys warmed up with a lot of confidence. It would of being the strongest team the boys have put together for some time.
Both teams took a while to get the blood pumping in the arctic conditions causing a fair few scrums early in the opening exchanges.
Canowindra’s forwards started dominating thanks to some great impact from Lachie Davis and James Watson in the second row, and Tommy Lamond, Hayden Ewart and Tim Bray up the front.
Dan Middleton was able to feed the slick back line some good ball going forward. Rob Burn had plenty of options at five-eight to put some runners into space.
Jayden Brown and John Grant had a field day with both players scoring a hat-trick of tries in the game.
Burn kicked four from six in the windy conditions to help give the Pythons a strong victory at home of 38-19 after the scores were locked at 14 a piece at half time.
Points for the day went to three points and players player Jayden Brown, two points Ronald Lawrence and one point to Rob Burn.
Next weekend the Pythons travel to Temora to hopefully make it three wins in a row.
The following weekend is the annual Sponsors and Members Day against Harden.
