While the final tally is still being counted, organisers predict that the amount raised this year will be close to $15,000.
Organiser James Rayner said the committee had a focus on selling more tickets to the general public this year and it proved to work.
“Last year we made six tables available to the public and it took four to five hours to sell out last year,” he said.
“We had 350 seats available this year, 15 or 16 tables available and in four to five minutes, it sold out. We thought it would take all day to sell out.
“The last two Balls we raised around $10,000, we think this one will be close to $15,000.”
James says close to $50,000 has been raised ever since the first Esky Ball four years ago and the money has gone towards restoring the Log Cabin.
“Four to five years ago we took a gamble on booking more buses and holding a sit down meal and it seems to have worked.”
“Last year, a new roof was put on, they are putting in a new kitchen and there are plans to re-do the female toilets and relocate the male toilets, and painted inside and out,” he said.
“The sponsors can see the changes made to the Cabin. The Gooloogong Lob Cabin Committee have worked hard to get grants and government funding.”
People from as far as Canberra, Trundle, Eugowra, Grenfell, Cowra, Forbes, Parkes and Canowindra, as well as Gooloogong residents, attended the ball this year.
