The initiative will see the club fitted out with a fully automatic defibrillator (AED) that can be used on any victim of sudden cardiac arrest.
As part of the grant, Mr Carpet Hughes from the Defibshop will deliver on a free presentation to the community on sudden cardiac arrest at the Canowindra Bowling Club.
Those in attendance will learn what is it, how does it occur, how to recognise it and importantly how to treat it and how to use the defibrillator for an event.
“The presentation is more than a first aid course in regards to sudden cardiac arrest,” said Mr Hughes.
Mr Hughes is an intensive care paramedic with well over twenty years of clinical experience.
He will share practical knowledge and experiences to provide those in attendance with confidence.
The presentation is free.
It is to be held on Wednesday, July 11 at the Canowindra Bowling Club at 5.30pm.
All attendees will be issued a certificate of attendance.
