Two Canowindra tourism organisations have been nominated as finalists in the 2018 Country and Outback Regional Tourism Awards.

They join three nominees from Orange in the area covered by the Orange 360 tourism body.

Canowindra Challenge and the Age of Fishes Museum join Heifer Station Wines, Lakeview Luxury Retreat, Orange FOOD Week, the Orange Ex-Services’ Club and the Orange Visitor Information Centre among 29 nominees in 15 categories.

Orange 360 general manager Caddie Marshall said it was a massive boost for the region.

“We’re super-stoked with how it came out today,” she said.

The Orange Ex-Services’ Club has not only been nominated for a Regional Tourism Award, it will also host the awards on July 28.

The day before it will also host the inaugural Country and Outback Tourism Forum, with speakers covering a range of tourism interests.

Canowindra Challenge was the recipient of the Canowindra Group of the Year award at the town’s 2018 Australia Day ceremony.
