After shivering through a weekend of below zero temperatures, Canowindra residents should prepare for a frosty forecast for the remainder of this week.

According to www.weatherzone.com.au last weekend saw the coldest conditions for the year so far across the Central West, with Sunday reaching a low -5.5 degrees and Monday reaching a low of -5.5 degrees.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), Orange hit a low of -7.2 degrees Celsius at 3.07am on Sunday, coming within a whisker of the breaking the record for the city’s coldest temperature: -7.7 degrees on July 2, 2002.
Incredibly, at 3.30am and with the temperature at -5.8 degrees, the ‘apparent temperature’ – which factors in the effects of wind – was -10 degrees.
The coldest place was at Marangaroo, not far from Lithgow, where the Defence weather station registered a low of -11.1 degrees at around 7:20am on Sunday.
Armidale was the second coldest spot in the state, with -10.1 degrees recorded at the city's Tree Group Nursery.
Glenn Innes, which is renowned for being nippy in mid-winter, experienced a low of -9 degrees, while at Cooma airport it was the coldest it had been in seven years at -10 degrees.
The thermometer fell to -6 degrees in Dubbo, “the lowest annual minimum temperature in the 26 years the weather station has been operating," BOM forecaster Jordan Notara said.
There has been some warming relief since Tuesday, with a low of 1.7 degrees and a high of 18.
Frosty mornings before clear days are predicted for Wednesday and Thursday, with lows of -2 on both days and a high of 15 and 18 degrees respectively.
A potential thunderstorm is forecast for Canowindra and Cowra on Friday, with a 40 per cent chance of 1-5mm of rain and a high of 11 degrees and a low of 4.
Whilst the weather has warmed up mid-week, temperatures will once again dip on the weekend, with snow predicted for the summit and higher slopes of Mount Canobolas on Friday.
The forecast also includes snowfalls for other pockets of the Central West, including Jenolan Caves, Oberon and Shooters Hill.
According to www.weatherzone.com.au Saturday is forecast to have a low of -2 degrees and a high of 12.
Sunday will have a frosty start with a low of -4 degrees predicted and a high of 14.
Orange will be slightly colder, with minimums of -3 degrees (Saturday) and -4 degrees (Sunday) to start the days.
There will be no relief from the cold for the start of next week, with a low of -4 degrees and a high of 16 forecast for Monday.
