Canowindra Clay Target Club has invested in a new building and verandah ahead of the Central Zone carnival next week.

The new building will include a kitchen and dining area and air conditioning, while the verandah provides seating and shelter.
The new building is an old five bedroom mine site accommodation building which was purchased from residents of Moorbel and moved to the club’s site on the Eugowra Road.
The past few weeks, members have been volunteering their time to clean up, lay concrete and fence the site while a number of local tradesman have helped the process.
The club’s original building it’s operated out of since 1983 dates back to the 1800s.
The upcoming shoot is the Central Zone carnival held on Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29.
The event acts as selection for junior ladies and open representatives to go to the state carnival in October at Wagga Wagga.
The club expects up to 100 shooters to attend from across the state.
Saturday’s event is sponsored by Inland Pest Management which sees 75 target champion of champions.
Sunday’s contested events will be 25 target double barrel, 25 target single barrel, 50 target point score.
Camping is available at the club’s site with hot showers and toilet facilities.
Damien Burt took out the high gun at the July shoot on Sunday.
He shot the program clean striking 200 out of a possible 200.
