“I’m pleased to announce Canowindra Swimming Club will receive $1,000 to assist them with purchasing some much-needed equipment,” Mr Donato said.
“The club will be purchasing Dolphin wireless stopwatches, which will allow them to stay up-to-date and to better support competitors during timed events.
“It’s important to support our sporting clubs as they play a vital role in our community,” said Mr Donato.
Chris Rowston, recently retired head coach of the Canowindra Swim Club who is still heavily involved with the club, said the funding will make a big difference.
“Our annual carnival is our biggest fundraiser; the purchase of these stopwatches means we can open the competition up to those swimmers who want a qualifying time,” Mr Rowston said.
“It brings us up to speed with other clubs throughout Australia, which is really important.”
