The score was no indication of how close the teams were where the defence on both sides was at a high level.
Manildra led 8-0 at halftime through a try and a penalty goal on the half time bell after a very exciting first half of rugby league.
The Tigers gave away too much possession to Manildra which resulted in repeat sets and put constant pressure on the Tigers defence.
With 20 minutes to remaining, only trailing by 14, the Tigers did get down in the Manildra territory for Callum Clyburn to force his way over for a try from dummy half and Matt McLean to converter.
Unfortunately it was the last point for the Tigers as all the boys were soaked of energy due to the sheer amount of tackling they’d done.
Manildra ran in multiple tries in the last 15 minutes of the game to blow the score out.
Youth league
Canowindra Tigers youth league side after winning on Sunday will face the minor premiers Manildra at Trundle.
The young Tigers started the game a little slow but as the game progressed the Tigers gained more and more intensity in their play and finished the stronger of the two sides.
The Tigers had opportunities to score first points but due to some strong defence from Trundle were held out.
Trundle were first to put the points on the board and led 6-0
In the first half the Tigers gave away too many penalties letting Trundle off the hook but with encouraging word from coach Dan Middleton, they turned around in the second half.
With seven minutes to go the Tigers scored and a great conversion from Hayden Cummings put the Tigers in front 16-14 and this was the final score.
They play next Sunday for a chance to go straight into the grand final.
The club would like to congratulate the youth league on their win and wish them all the best next week.
Also thank you to all the work the league tag girls have done for the club this year.
