First up on the cultural calendar will be two performances from Canowindra’s Beanshed Drama School on Friday and Saturday, September 7 and 8.
On what will be a busy weekend, on Sunday, September 9 the Sunday Serenade will then by held at All Saints Anglican Church.
The BeanShed Drama School is putting on a play based on The Hobbit with the first performance on Friday, September 7 from 7pm and a second performance on Saturday, September 8 at 3pm.
The performances, under the direction of Nerida Cuddy, will feature up to 20 local children with this year’s show marking nearly two decades of entertainment for the group.
Entry cost is $5 for adults, $2 for children or a maximum of $10 per family.
Performances will be held in the Jack Sherwin Memorial Hall at Canowindra High School.
Canteen facilities will be available during interval.
Sunday Serenade
The Sunday Serenade is happening again from 2pm on Sunday, September 9 at All Saints Anglican Church.
The concerts aim to raise money for the CWA Music and Voice Scholarship.
This year, there are three current scholarship holders performing, as well as a performer from Cowra who obtained a scholarship nearly 80 years ago and is still performing.
Also the CWA and Friends community choir, under the leadership of Mary-ann Wright, is performing, along with a several of other local music and voice talents.
Entry is $5 with primary and younger children free.
Applications for the 2019 scholarship will the launched on the day.
